Oscars 2012 - My Top 5

Yes, I watch the Oscars. But mostly just the red carpet coverage so I can check out the amazing fashion!  Below are my top 5 favs from the Oscars this year :)

Angelina Jolie, Guiliana Rancic, Stacy Kiebler, Rooney Mara, and Milla Jovovich (in no particular order)
It was SO hard to pick just 5 favs, so a couple honorable mentions to Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ellie Kemper!

Coupons

I couldn't sleep this morning so I decided to update my coupons!  We get the Sunday paper, so I always pull out the coupons, flip through casually and pull out anything I know I need.  Then I put the rest in a drawer and wait until I have time to page through them more carefully.  I only cut out coupons for items we use or new items we would like to try.  I'm not even close to an extreme couponer, so I just organize them in a way I understand and throw them in an envelope to go through each week before we head to the groceryy store.

Let's Renovate

Jas and I have been talking about remodeling our master bath.  We went to a home and garden show today as well as a couple show rooms and got a ton of inspiration!  We want to go with a natural stone look and stick with a tan color theme.  I can't wait to get rid of all the ugly builder-grade materials!

Wine Cork Letters

A few years ago I was at a dinner party and the host had made this super cute trivet out of an old frame and wine corks.  I thought it was the cutest idea, so I started saving all of the wine corks I went though.  My mom even started saving hers for me too, so years later I had bags and bags of corks!  I was browsing on Pinterest one day and saw a pin of a big letter made out of wine corks and *bam* MOTIVATION!  I went to Hobby Lobby the next day and picked up a cheap wooden letter and started hot gluing all of my corks to the letter.  It was SO easy and looks perfect hanging in the kitchen :)

Jamaica No Problem

Just got back from our Jamaican vacation :)  Stayed at Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica and had the most relaxing time!  I'll let the pictures do the talking

Heart Starbucks

I love Starbucks! Fav drink? Warm weather : iced skinny caramel macchiato Cold weather: PSL!!! (pumpkin spice latte) OR triple grande skinny vanilla latte (gotta have the caffeine boost for 12 hour days)

So yesterday I stopped by my local Starbucks and look at their cute cups!

We don't have any Valentine's Day plans since we are headed to Jamaica on the 15th, but I do love a cute heart cup! Made me all warm and cozy inside :)

Fresh Coat of Paint

We had a semi lazy day today.  Went out for breakfast then to Lowe's for some paint for our downstairs bathroom.  I painted away the morning while Jas worked on a frame for our ugly builder grade mirror.  Pictures of the finished project to come.  The rest of the day resembled this...

Weekday Dinners

So, for my job I work mainly 12, if not, 14 hour shifts, so I'm not home to do a lot of cooking during the week.  I hate the idea of grabbing something at work or having Jas stop for fast food on his way home, so I've enlisted the help of my crock pot! For those of you who know me, you know I LOVE my crock pot!  What I usually do is cook up some chicken or make a casserole in my crock pot on Sunday to use for dinners throughout the week.  If I just make up some chicken, I will also make rice and some frozen vegetables.  This is what it usually looks like on Sundays.

I separate the food into tupperware containers for myself and Jas and it works out so well for us.  I recently bought a cook book called Fit it and Forget it Light. It has over 600 healthy crock pot recipes :)
